Bastia Castle is one of the over 160 Castles and Castle ruins you'll encounter in the Lunigiana region of Tuscany. The Castle is located just east of Licciana Nardi in the Lunigiana region of Tuscany.
The castle was strategically situated on a crossroad linking Liguria and Tuscany and the Emilia-Romagna.
You can see from the satellite map the way the borgo of Bastia is spread around the central castle, and the vineyards planted on the southern slopes.

Bastia is located in the Taverone river valley of the Lunigiana region of Tuscany near the town of Licciana Nardi. The market town of the Lunigiana is Aulla.
Bastia Castle is privately owned, but is open at least once a year to view.
There are no hotels in Licciana Nardi. Since the historic territory of the Lunigiana is small, there are many houses and apartments in the countryside around Licciana Nardi. Annother place to look for rental properties is Lunigiana Rentals.
For more on the territory, see the Lunigiana Map and Travel guide.
